Entrepreneur27 Technology Symposium Wrap-up

February 3rd, 2006

Congratulations “Licketyship”:http://www.licketyship.com for winning “most promising company” out of all the companies that presented on Saturday at the “E27 Technology Symposium”:http://www.entrepreneur27.org/archive/technology-symposium ! And the prize is….well actually, there is no prize, except for the sheer satisfaction that the majority of people that showed up think your company will make it ? !

But, mind you, the rest of the companies that presented:

  1. “Billmonk”:http://www.billmonk.com
  2. “Box.net”:http://www.box.net
  3. “InfreeDA”:http://www.infreeda.com
  4. “Placesite”:http://www.placesite.com
  5. “NeuroSky”:http://www.neurosky.com
  6. “Flagr”:http://www.flagr.com
  7. “Standpoint”:http://www.standpoint.com
  8. “Skobee”:http://www.skobee.com

were not that far behind in votes. All of the companies did a great job of presenting. They were entertaining, energetic, and for the most part, pretty intriguing.

There were some great reviews of the event from, “Robert Scoble”:http://scobleizer.wordpress.com/2006/01/28/small-ideas-big-companies, “Emily Chang”:www.emilychang.com/go/weblog/comments/new-startups-and-web-20-products-debut-at-e27-technology-symposium/ & Michael of “Techcrunch”:http://www.techcrunch.com/2006/01/28/nine-startups-at-e27-summit/. Also, a “podcast”:http://www.maxkiesler.com/podcasts/entrepreneur27-presentations.mp3 of the entire event from “Max Kleiser”:http://www.maxkiesler.com/index.php/weblog/comments/228/. Click “here”:http://berkeley.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2019874&l=f52f6&id=1203598 for pictures of the event. “Shivani”:http://shivani.wordpress.com/2006/02/11/e27-tech-symposium-re-cap/ the main coordinator this event posted her feelings about coordinating here.

After the success of this conference, we will be learning from our mistakes in the first one, taking suggestions, and doing another Tech Symposium! “Sign up for the mailing list”:http://hfgconsulting.com/mailman/listinfo/e27_hfgconsulting.com (no spam, okay just a little). Also, for all the women out there, in a few months, we will be doing a women’s conference.

THANK YOU: “Noah Kagan”:http://www.okdork.com (one of the co-coordinators), Angie Chang (she did the awesome brochure), Nirali Desai, Nancy Gong (“BASES”://bases.stanford.edu), Philip Fung, Prabhu Balasubramanian, Joe Chen, AJ Minich, Zachary Zarate, Jennifer Chen, and Laura Merling (“SDForum”:http://www.sdforum.org) for helping out with the conference. Special thanks to Patrick (Robert Scoble’s son) for sitting through the entire conference even though, I’m sure, he was bored out of his mind?. And of course, thank you to all the presenters and attendees.
